    windows 7 on seperate hdd

    hi all
new to the forum need some help on my install. brought a new ssd and thought i would install 8 on it so i can boot back to 7 anytime i like incase i wasnt a fan or so i didnt have to reinstall everything etc...
    now heres the problem
i installed it on the ssd and it runs fine but when i change boot priority it still boots 8 so i decided to remove the new ssd and try that but i got a repair type error saying the winboot ir whatever file was missing so ive reattatched the ssd and back on 8 now but would also like to load 7 and i dont care if i never have to load 8 ever again to be honest i can see where it would be good for tablets but not for my desktop thanks.
    any help would be great

First disconnect the SSD with Windows 8 from your system. Then boot into your Windows 7 repair disk, or into Windows 7 repair from your 7 installation DVD and run startup repair. You may have to do it up to 3 times before Windows 7 will boot on its own. The problem first occurred because when you installed Windows 8 on the SSD you still had the HDD connected and it placed the boot files there.

    Welcome to EightForums.

Physically disconnect the Windows 8 HD.
Make the Windows 7 HD, disk0 & first HD boot in BIOS.Also connected to the first Sata port on the MOBO.
