    Windows 8 32-bit on Dell Inspiron E1505

I installed the Windows 8 Release Preview Evaluation copy, Build 8400, on my Dell Inspiron E1505 and it works just fine. I'm wondering if I can expect an upgrade to Win 8 Pro to work as satisfactorily, or might I expect trouble?

    Here are specs:

    Intel Core Duoprocessor T2500
    (2MBi2GHz.!667MHz)
    15.4 Inch Ultrasharp TrueLife Wide-screen
    WSXGA-i, for lnspiron 6400451505
    2GB, DDR2, 533MHz 2 Dimrn
256MB Ge Force 7300 Graphics card
    8X DVD+i-RW Drive for inspiron 6400i'E1505
SoundBlaster Advanced Audio for XPS M1710
    Intel PRO1Wireiess 3945 802.11aig Mini Card (54Mbps)
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0 + EDR)

    Thanks for any input.

Stan 2Gb ram is cutting it close. You will not be able to run more than 3 or 4 programs with that amount of Ram. Other than that you will get by!

It's doing fine now with 2Gb. My concern is whether the two versions are different in some way that might cause a problem.

Hi y'all, Here's my issue, the other day I bought a new Dell Inspiron 15 laptop and the first thing I did with it, was wipe all the factory partitions and downgrade it from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7. Well, after having it for a few days, I decided to return it, because I don't care for it. I...
Hi. Yesterday, I restored my Inspiron 15 to it's factory settings. Post-reset, I installed all drivers for Windows 8 directly from the Dell website except for the AMD driver which I took from the AMD website (just wanting to get the latest directly from the source, I guess). I also used that...

I installed Windows 8 on an old Core Duo Dell e1505 with an ATI x1300 video. The video is old enough that I had to install the Vista version of the video card driver using Vista compatibility mode, it works just fine. Benchmark is actually slightly better than in Windows XP. If this works, I may...
