I'm using the legit copy of Windows 8 Pro 32 bit. Firstly I would like to know that if I upgrade to 32 bit, can I use the same key?

Secondly, is my laptop capable of handling 64 bit? When I had purchased it, it came with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit. So when I upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium I opted for 32 bit. And now again I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro 32 bit only.

But I hear a lot of advantages of 64 bit PCs from my friends. So the question is that can my laptop handle 64 bit OS?

This is what I see in System Properties:

Check on the Acer web site for Windows 8 x64 drivers.

The key is both 32 & 64 on one PC , one install.

If you download the upgrade, You need to redonwload the Windows 8 x64.

One PC, one install? Does that mean I cannot use the key I have purchased on the 32 bit installation?

If you upgrade to x64 from x32, that is one PC, one Install.

Okay. So I'll check the drivers, but are you sure that my system can handle a 64 bit OS?

And if yes then how do I exactly upgrade? The same method, download it from Microsoft and make a bootable USB drive?

Looking at your system properties->System type. It says 32bit, X64-based processor, that tells you yes, you can install X64.
