no dvd drive

At Harvey Norman if you buy a win 7 laptop you can buy win 8 for 15$ au.. The store worker said Thay send you a disk but the Asus laptop im getting (budget laptop) dosent have a CD drive is there some other way I can get it for that price or will a external DVD drive work (last option)

Set the boot order in the Bios to boot from (USB first), and your external
DVD drive will work just fine…

Sorry im new to all of this.... Set to boot from usb then plug in external drive?? Or can it boot from usb?? Im,sorry if this is more simple from what I just read
