But if secure boot is involved, it might also be interfering.

When you restart where it tells you to, does a Boot Manager show up for the drive? Have you tried removing the install media?

The Download makes a good USB flash drive for UEFI. The .iso file is not UEFI compatible. A hard copy DVD from Microsoft does boot into UEFI....just some info in case...

    Hello Saltgrass,

I believe using CSM would be the same as using legacy BIOS, but I'll give it a play to see what happens. Thank you.

    Secure boot is not enabled.

The bootable USB is good to go. It works to have UEFI on the HDD. I basically just formatted the USB as FAT32, extracted the Windows 8 ISO to the USB, and marked the USB as active. The key is the "EFI" folder in the installation files. In the boot menu, you would select the "UEFI - name of USB" option. Works a treat.

Secure boot is not enabled for now since it would prevent booting from the USB.
USB Pendrive should boot from One time boot menu, if formated to FAT32. with Secure Boot enable.

Just in case, you do not have another drive, internal or external, connected with a logical partition....?

A wild stab!!! Do you have an onboard Intel controller set to RAID? I use an Asus P8P67 Deluxe (Rev 3) on which I dual boot Win7 Ult on SATA 3's (RAID 0) with Win7 Ult on a Revo X2 (RAID 0) (see my system specs). I got very lucky since this is what I wanted to do from square 1. My BIOS (which is a UEFI) number is 1503 (not that I think this number applies to you). This BIOS was the last on the Asus P8P67 Deluxe to allow booting from a Revo X2 with the onboard Intel controller set to RAID. Could a similar issue be affecting you? See this OCZ ink. Of course, you are dealing with Win8, while I dealt with Win7 in the context of the potential problem with your set up.

PS I would never dare to install Win8 on my set up. I'm pretty risk averse when it comes to really good things that are working very well.

Ooops, you're right. I was thinking of the "Fast Startup" option in UEFI that would prevent booting from USB instead.

    Hello znod,

Interesting. I'll have to play with that.

Did you setup the RAID for the Revo with the Intel controller or with the built-in Revo controller, or did you just enable Intel and still used the Revo controller?

Did you install Win7 as UEFI w/GPT or legacy BIOS w/MBR on the Revo?

For me the Revo works just fine installing Win8 using legacy BIOS w/MBR. It just will not continue installation after the first restart using UEFI w/GPT.
