    Please Help

Okay so I hope that I dont sound stupid.
So I picked up Windows 8 today because it was on sale and very cheap, coming home to find out the disc wont load at all. So I figured out I dont have enough RAM. So I am planning on heading out to Bestbuy tomorrow to pick up a G or 2. Will this solve the problem of the disc not loading? I put the disc in and nothing happened.

    Hello there!

I can't think of a reason why RAM would affect a DVD from booting. Is it just not booting from the DVD?

I put it in, nothing comes up, I go to my computer and click on disc, nothing comes up.

Have you set the boot menu to start off of the DVD drive first? If your PC is set to boot from the hard drive, it won't run the DVD.

Just to make sure, your disk drive reads DVDs yes?

    Correct.
How exactly do I do that?

Is it a DVD drive you are putting the disk into?? If not, that's your problem, a regular CD-RW reader/writer drive won't work.

When you go into "My Computer", does a Microsoft icon show up instead of the drive letter and the description of the drive (eg. D: DVD-RW)

You should be able to open it up and check for the setup.exe file. You might have a defective disk.

Before Windows starts up, when you are starting up, there is a F key you need to tap (it should say, for instance, F12 = boot)

Then highlight the DVD drive to boot to first instead of the HD.

    CD-RW shows up.

    Then you don't have a DVD-RW drive?

You need one in order to read the disk, which is a DVD.
