    nned help with .Net 3.5

    Hi

I am using Sony Vegas on a daily basis and my work relies on using it.
Unfortunately Sony Vegas requires .Net Framework 3.5.

before redirecting me to several forums on TechNet etc... I have been there

I need an idiots guide to install .Net Framework 3.5 on Win 8 Pro

    I tried this:

    DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:f:\sources\sxs
    dism.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /Source:f:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess
    sfc /scannow

    nothing works...
I get this or similar errors all the time
Also enable it via control panel does nothing.

    C:\Windows\system32>DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /Limit
    Access /Source:f:\sources\sxs

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
    Version: 6.2.9200.16384

    Image Version: 6.2.9200.16384
    Enabling feature(s)
    [===========================65.8%====== ]

    Error: 0x800f081f
The source files could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required t
o restore the feature. For more information on specifying a source location, see
    Configure a Windows Repair Source.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log
    C:\Windows\system32>

It seems that feature is missing from the retail DVD of windows 8 pro upgrade
If that's the case, I need to return the DVD and go back to Windows 7.

Any suggestions? Or real help that works?
Or get the money back from Microsoft?

    I'm really annoyed ...

I'm going to suggest something that may seem very idiotic, but I can't find it anywhere in your description..

Have you tried just installing net framework 3.5?

    Link:
Download: .NET Framework 3.5 - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

I have tried to download and install it, succesfully.

    Hi Aiko

Yes, I downloaded this including the offline installer too.
The installation becomes unresponsive by approximately 70 percent.
I had the laptop on all night that is 8 hours and when I woke up it was still at 70 percent.

Sorry, I guess this is a misunderstanding.
I ALREADY HAVE downloaded and tried to install from Microsoft website.

the installer stops at about 70 percent.

original dotnetfx35.exe is 231 Megabyte (offline installer)
and the original dotNetFx35setup 2.73 MB (web installer)
I don't need unofficial web downloads. Thanks, but no thanks...

Monday, this copy goes back in the store and I get my money back
    or at least I try...

    Thanks everyone
    I'm off from here

    waste of time

You should be ok to get a refund.

Apparently MS have been pressured into honouring 14 days for store bought products - and 30 days for online bought. Even if they have been opened.

For this to work(download and install of Dot net 3.5). You must go to internet options and enable all the SSL & TSL options. Once I did that 3.5 downloaded and installed with no problems.
