First of All thx for your forum. I just register cause I am totally desperate to find a solution to my problem.

I bought a new Laptop like one month ago (ACER Aspire 4752G) and it cames with Windows 7 Home premium installed, No problem at all.

My odyssey starts when I purchased the offer to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro paying 30 Euros. I paid and download the SO, I Upgrade from my Windows 7 Home premium and them All my problems started. I didn't make a DVD backup of my Windows 7 so I don't have anything from my old Windows 7 (only the sticker down my Laptop).

At the beginning Everything worked well with Windows 8 but Finally I was fed up with the new interface (Metro sucks) and I had problems with the Metro Apps (The store, skype, mail etc didn't work) So After reading some forums Where People were recommending to do a clean installation I Chose to go back to Windows 7.

But I download from my university a Windows 7 Professional ISO which supposed to be completely legal for Students etc. After the install I have problems with the activation and after calling Microsoft (they don't work in spain on saturdays) I tried an "activator" which needed a restart to work...But after the restart My computer never achieved to load Windows 7 professional again. My computer just keep restarting again and again without even loading Windows 7 Screen.

Later I decided to download an official Windows 7 Home premium+ SP1 from Digital river cause I thought I can use my Serial number from the sticker under my laptop (Which I don't know if its gonna work). After booting from the DVD where I burn the Windows 7 Home premium ISO I have the problem that I CAN NOT Install Windows 7 Because I receive and error message about my HDD is using EFI or a type of format Windows 7 can not recognaise or use. So I can not format my HDD or Install Windows 7.

I read somethin about EFI but I don't have the option to switch it off from my BIOS so I just can NOT DO ANYHTING.

I am writing this using my girlfriend's computer (MacBook) and I just Try to download and ISO of Windows 8 Pro Who is supossed to work with the extension of the files or format my HDD but I can only download an exe from microsoft to upgrade to Windows 8 but I can not use my Laptop so I need a Windows 8 ISO Bootable which I can burn to a DVD or something similar. I can not do anything with my computer due to my irresponsibility of lacking a secure copy of my Windows 7 OEM but It's frustating that I can not install a new Windows 7 or download a Windows 8 ISO although I had a product license etc.

Somebody can help me with an url where I can download a Windows 8 PRO ISO To install on my laptop and use my Product License??

thank you!

Don't Work. If I press f12 nothing happened. I need to press F2 and them I enter in the Bios config but I don't have any UEFI button or related. Not at all. Just Somethinf to choose between IDE or AHSI or something similar (in SATA) or choose the order to boot. Just like that. I have and ACER Aspire 4752G.

I need an ISO of Windows 8 PRO so I can boot from that and enter my Original Key so MAYBE I could use my laptop again...I am getting really angry with microsoft and this new SO that is a Pain my ass

Check in your manual to make sure, you are pressing the right F? key, for one time boot menu, as far as I now Acer is F12.

Well then, this is an interesting odyssey.

So Windows 7 or 8 isn't allowing you install on the hard drive partition on your laptop?

If you really need to have a working Windows OS on your laptop without too much difficulty, I'd recommend going through TechNet and downloading the Windows 8 Enterprise 90 day trial.

Download Windows 8 Enterprise Evaluation

You'll need to sign up for TechNet, then you can download the .iso.

Either use a flash drive or a DVD, and try to find a working Windows PC, download and install this to create the bootable install media.
Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool - CNET Download.com

Then, take your bootable flash drive or disk and take it to your laptop. You might not have the boot menu F12 key enabled.
Acer Support - Answers, E-Mail, Chat - Why can't I get the F12 Boot Menu to work on my notebook or netbook?

This should be able to enable it. Then F12, and install Windows 8.

It is a process, so make sure you do things correctly. Don't get too frustrated as you might actually end up buying a macbook! :p

By the way, when you had Windows 8, did you ever pin the needed Desktop items onto the Start Screen? For example, did you pin Computer or the libraries or any other Desktop apps, or organize the tiles neatly? Here on said Windows 8 Forums, we can DEFINTELY help you out there! :D

You should be able to get into setup by pressing F2.

There will be something in there for enabling legacy/bios install - or some similar wording.

There might also be something to enable the F12 key.

Ok in parts (Like Jack The ripper):

- Finally (I Don´t know how) My Windows 7 Home premium didn´t allow me to Format C: (cause that UEFI thing) but allow me to installed there... Strange. Later I was able to use my OEM key (in the sticker below my laptop) to register my windows 7 Home Premiun.

Check in your manual to make sure, you are pressing the right F? key, for one time boot menu, as far as I now Acer is F12.

I can assure to you that nothing happens when I press F12. Only with F2 I could access to the BIOS in where I Could not find any option related to UEFI, Legay-Bios, etc. Sorry.

- I am very happy about the downgrade to Win 7 cause I find more useful the traditional desktop instead of the horrendous (at least for Laptop) Metro interface. In my opinion this is totally failure of Microsoft and a lot of people would maybe change to win 8 and them back to 7.

Thanx for everything and Hope that my experience could be useful for somebody.
