Solved Can't clean install Enterprise

Hi all,

I'm into my 4th hour of trying to clean install W8 Enterprise which originates from TechNet. I must be overlooking something severely or am in lack of general knowledge. But let's assume the latter.

Look at the first screenshot below (taken from a tutorial in here); The second screen in there I do NOT get. Instead there's a message telling that when I want to select partitions etc. (which I need because I'm installing on an existing HDD - meant to dual boot later) that I need to reboot with "the setup disk in the CD Rom drive" (similar). And indeed, this is not what I did; instead I just fired up the install in there (see second screenshot). But :

What I did was unpacking the ISO coming from the Technet download and burned a DVD from it. And this is not bootable ...
Okay, so I burned another DVD with the ISO, assuming that would be a bootable thingy. Sadly it is not either.
Then I created a bootable image through WBICreator which creates an ISO again smoked that to DVD, but to no avail again.

I can't be sure but I guess I never made any bootable CD/DVD from a Technet download; I checked earlier DVDs and they are not bootable either. But point is : I don't receive that second screen fom the first screenshot below. And THIS looks new to me; I just can't get into the partition stuff.

Remember, this is Enterprise (64).

Can anyone provide a solution to my annoying problem please ?
Great thanks in advance,
Peter

Solved !

Shawn, super ! And then to think I had been looking into that thread but didn't see it as relevant. Also, that "Download Tool" looks as being related to downloading itself. But it isn't at all (obviously now).

Btw, ran into the W7 problem of no other HDDs allowed to be in there (0x8030024 error). Removed those, and now I'm up and running.

Great thanks,
Peter

PS: Any idea about why the downloadable ISO isn't bootable (after unpacking) in the first place ? Contents now looks the same as the list of files I showed without letting loose the Download Tool on it.

That's great news Peter.

An ISO file cannot just be unpacked and copied to a DVD for the DVD to be bootable. The ISO must be burned to DVD using a method like the tutorial to make the DVD bootable. That's all. :)
