Good morning to everyone! I hope you are all having a great day so far...

I have several Windows 8 devices (Notebooks, Tablets, etc.) all running Windows 8 Pro. I have two systems which for all intents and purposes are identical in their software, apps, etc. On both of these systems, I installed the latest Chrome web browser as the default browser, and on both the tile shows up in Metro as it should. On the first system, when I touch the tile, it launches Chrome in the Metro UI and when I exit, I am still in the Metro UI. However, on the other system, when I touch the tile it opens the Desktop and launches Chrome in the Dekstop environment. I looked at all of the settings and I am not sure what it is that I am missing, but I would like them to both behave like the first, where it never launches the desktop and just stays within the Metro UI. Please feel free to throw a brick at my head for overlooking the ovbious, and I aplogize ahead of time! LOL....

Any ideas? Thanks all very much!

Mike

The new Chrome update went live to v23. Under settings at the very top is a new toggle that let's you choose which version of Chrome you want to launch.

Thank you very much - under settings at the top, there was an option to "relaunch Chrome in Windows 8 mode" and that did the trick! Thank you very much for the fast response!

Thanks for the reply but it was simple...

Hi there!

Actually it was exactly the same version. However, there is a toggle in settings to "use in Windows 8 mode" which you can turn on and off. If it is off, it will launch in Desktop mode, but if it is on, it will launch in Metro mode. Problem solved! Hurray! :)
