I have had trouble attempting to install Windows 8 on a computer I recently purchased. It had Ubuntu installed on it, and when I tried to install Windows 8, it would give me the error message "could not create new partition or locate existing one". I followed a few different solutions, but in the end ended up running Darik's Boot and Nuke to get rid of Ubuntu and any other OS's installed on the computer, which is the way I preferred it anyways.
So now when I am attempting to install Wiindows 8, I can choose one of the disk partitions successfully, and the installation process begins with the screen showing the percentage progress for each portion of the installation, but after a few minutes, with the percentage staying at 0 for the first step, an error message pops up with the error number 0x8004245F. I'm attempting to use the diskpart method of preparing the partition, but now I am also having an issue with Diskpart where after I type it into the command line to run it, it simply shows the copyright information and does not allow anymore input.
