How to install windows 8 on new ssd ?? On new PC with 8 preinstalled.

Hello everyone!

I just bought a new asus desktop pc with windows 8 preinstalled.

I want to swap out the hdd for an ssd instead.

How would I install the OS on the new ssd with a usb drive?

Also once I get the OS on the new ssd would all the drivers automatically install?

I don't even know that much about bios etc.......I'm a bit of a noob.

The asus didn't include restore/install disks either.

Any help would be great.:thumb:

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?



You can order OEM Recovery disks from your OEM manufacturer's website.

This for Windows 7:
Asus A1 Recovery.

I'd rather avoid disks at all costs.

Can't I make a recovery usb?

Where can I get my iso file?

You will need to open the ASUS app & see if there is a option to make USB Recovery.

There are multiple asus apps which one should I open?

I would say, Asus A1 Recovery.

There is no AI recovery on my computer just AI suite II.

What should I do?

Open, A1 suite ll, & see what options you have.

If there is no option to make ASUS Recovery disc, you need to use the Windows system image.

Thanks for trying to help me but I'm giving up and returning it for a mac mini.

Windows is just way too advanced for me.

I already registered the asus under my name for the warranty.

I signed into my asus account but I cant find a place to unregister the computer.

Can someone tell me how to unregister it?
