I wonder why microsoft didn't offer a home version of windows 8 instead of a pro ? Home versions are dead ? I am not complaining for getting pro version but this makes me wonder.

Win 8 Pro is the only boxed version most are seeing on the shelves for sale.
Enterprise version I understand is only available through volume licensing and I could be wrong but believe that Windows 8 (Standard?) seems to be the OEM version installed on new lower end PC's.

I have no idea how you would get a copy of Windows 8 RT if you wanted it.

All a bit confusing at this stage.

You can't buy RT install media, Microsoft will only sell the operating system to device manufacturers directly, and not as a stand-alone product to consumers. The only way for you and I to get it is preinstalled on a device.
