Hi bredbu, welcome to the forums, try a refresh, back up any important files to an external hard drive prior to refresh.

    Hi bredu

You can redownloading your D/L & made a ISO.
How to redownload your Windows 8 Upgrade setup D/L.

Yes, you need the disc, if you haven't created one, find the receipt send by the Store(email), click the link in that email to download and choose the option "create media to install latter"(I think 2nd option), you can burn the .iso file.

I had the exact same problem as you. Within a day all the metro apps just kicked me out to the start screen. Did a fresh install and everything is working fine so far.

Clean install is the way to go. I tried the upgrade/install route and had issues (sluggish performance and Media Center failed to work properly).

this is happening to a lot of people, it appears that 3rd party anti-virus programs are the biggest culprit.

I might delete my avast anti-virus all together, the built-in anti-virus in windows 8 is really good, why run both.

Many third party anti-virus seem not to work on WIN 8. I installed Mcafee enterprise which works great on Win 7 Ultimate, and it simply would not run. I eventually went with a clean install of Win 8 and use windows defender for now.

Solved Windows Live Tiles in Customization
I was wondering, and please forgive me if this has been asked before, is there any way to create a live tile with a better picture?
