The remaining bit of aero is the transparency on the taskbar. I haven't explored all the options on right-click, cause mine seems pretty solid using a different desktop scheme...

Aero has been removed. If you want to turn some of these features off you can enter advanced system settings, then the visual settings/performance menu. I'd leave the default though, looks fine to me.

Aero has been replaced by a feature called Color Automatic. Right click on the desktop and choose Personalize. Of the picture groups some say Basic, some say High Contrast and some say Color Automatic (with a multicolored fan symbol). Color Automatic makes a window border or the task bar similar to the shade of the desktop wallpaper behind it, just as if it was relatively transparent. For instance, in wallpaper of a farm field, the task bar will be the color of the field, but a window border in the upper part of the desktop would be the color of the sky or clouds.

I like Color Automatic better than Aero. To apply Color Automatic to one or several wallpaper pics, select a theme with it, then browse for a selection of images you want and save it as a new theme. I applied Color Automatic to a folder of 130 natural scenes and change the wallpaper every 15 minutes. Makes for a very cool desktop.
