I have windows 7 ultimate, which I do not want to tamper with.

I also have Windows xp home edition.

I want to run it as a virtual machine on my windows 7 with vmware.

and then upgrade it to windows 8, so I can run both windows 7 and 8 on same workstation.

Will it be possible?

Can anyone give me a step by step guide to install xp on vmware and then the procedure to upgrade it to windows 8?

Vmware Player 9 free) or VMware Workstation ( $ 200) ?

why you don't simply Google " install xp in vmware workstation" it's full on You Tube and tutorial , when XP ,Service pack 3 are install and activate just run the Windows 8 update

I am trying, I have like 20 tabs open right now, but its very confusing, problem is some say some additional drivers are required to boot xp on vmware. Can you please give some video links?

I was talking about my physical workstation and yes using vmware workstation as well.
