    Help?

    Specs:
    2 GB of RAM
    2.81 GHz
    x86 Operating System
    Compaq Built
    Windows XP Home Edition 2002

    Missing Installation Files
My father and I were setting up Windows 8 on his Windows XP Computer.
He was cleaning out the C:\ drive to get that extra 16 GB of space for 8, when accidentally the files were deleted required for the setup.

    Question
Is there a direct way to use our Product Key to re-download these files? We have it written down, but it isn't usable without a copy of Windows 8 to activate. Help?

    Help will be appreciated.

    [UPDATE]
We are almost finished clearing the 16 GB of space required, but still I might need a direct way to use our Product Key without the upgrade assistant?

Thanks, but the BIOS won't work, 8 won't boot, and I'm pretty sure this is a fatal error.

The upgrade was $40 down the drain.

Not if you can pick up a cheapo PC from a 3rd party that'll run Windows 8.
