Hi,

Since I want to update my windows 7 notebook (asus n55sf) to windows 8, I installed the windows 8 upgrade advisor. First, the compatibility of my programs was checked. Here no problems occured. However, when I moved on to the screen where I wanted to order windows 8, the programs hangs at the screen which is attached below. The language is dutch and it says something like "we are preparing some thinks, a moment please" Knipsel.PNG
I waited for 3 hours and the program is still at this screen. I already redownloaded the utility and tried it again, but every time it hangs at this screen. Does anyone know a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance

Try a clean install.

You can make the ISO from exe.

Check this post by BillWindows.

You should have an upgrade file on your desktop, click on that, it asks some questions and one of them is do you want to install later say yes, then another question do you want to create an ISO file just say yes, when it has created the ISO file, right click on it to burn it to a DVD.
Then boot from that to completely wipe your disk and reformat, make sure you have your key for when you start the installation. If you have a Windows Live account use that. Make sure you feel comfortable doing this and have anything you need backed up, this worked for me, I hope it works for you.

If you need to redownload, go to your email from Windows Strore.

Well, I still have to purchase the windows 8 key which has to be done through this upgrade assistant as I got a discount code. And I did not yet reach the screen where is asked if i want to install windows 8 later. The last screen before the endless loading page is the one where you can press the order button for windows 8 pro....

I had this same problem. I fixed it by first setting my default browser from chrome to IE. I next had to reset my security settings to default, as scripting was turned off.

This fixed the problem for me.
