Install Win8 Without Old Install Disks ?

I have a Win7 laptop, but the install disk is not currently in my possession. I insert my new Win8 upgrade disk and run the installer, will it ask for my Win7 disk ?

I have my win7 product key....

No, it will not ask for your disk, but I think it'll need your Product Key if you are using the upgrade.

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

I am 100% sure that it won't. Just looking around and talking to friends about their upgrade experiences, it doesn't ask you for your 7 disc. And if you needed 7 discs after W8 installed, follow this tutorial

and in step one, there are legal download links.

No - the install is on to a MacBook Pro with Parallels 8 virtualisation software. There are no OEM recovery apps for Windows

In the link in my last post, there is a legal download link for Windows 7. Just go ahead and install Windows 8.
