    Can't upgrade to Win 8 Pro -Hal_Initialization_Failed-

    Hello,

I purchased a copy of Win 8 pro via the Upgrade advisory tool, and after downloading I chose "keep nothing" option,
the installation process reaches %100 and reboot, but then I get this error everytime "Hal_Initialization_Failed".
I restored my laptop to factory condition, then I uninstalled all the programs and drivers, but I got the same error in both times.

I'm using HP Envy 16 Ultrabook with windows 7 HP

PS. I was able to install it on a Virtual machine.

Then boot from that to completely wipe your disk and reformat, make sure you have your key for when you start the installation. If you have a Windows Live account use that. Make sure you feel comfortable doing this and have anything you need backed up, this worked for me, I hope it works for you.
