How to change from ide to ahci in windows 8

Hi I ma having problems in windows 8 from changing ide to ahci , it crashes at startup if I do the switch in bios and it is hard to fix after, meaning have a hard time to get to desktop. Can anyone give me the right steps pls? Thks

Try "Let me fix it myself" method, don't use the "Fix it", it was probably for Windows 7/Vista I think.
Error message occurs after you change the SATA mode of the boot drive
EDIT: It might work but not guaranteed as I haven't tried.

I had to do a refresh I tried everything else. There has to be a way easier to get ahci mode from ide ?Anyone else Thks for reply though, that fix it link does not work.

Did you try the method highlighted?.

It doesn't work same way in windows 8 have a look in registry you'll know what I mean .Thks

I got it working it was a bit confusing but does work without re-installing windows.
