Hello guys,
I have recently downloaded and installed the Win8 RP x64 in VirtualBox at no avail (insufficient resources), so I am trying the native installation now. I have successfully installed the win8 RP x64 on my external USB HDD Seagate GoFlex Desk (2TB) in its own partition with the help of ImageX from the Windows AIK, and after some fiddling it booted too (it certainly does not boot from the USB3.0 port, probably thanks to missing drivers).
Now, my problem is that, when I'm at the Desktop (not Metro/start screen/Apps/...), I noticed that all apllications start, but don't appear onscreen. This is partly due to my setup, which consists of a laptop (broken screen) connected to a 1080p TV per HDMI. I have by now managed to get Win8 to display all its stuff on the TV by setting the output per the menu on the right ->Devices -> 2nd screen -> 2nd screen only. I have also switched through the screens with the Fn keys (used for projectors, beamers etc) at no avail.
Still, Win8 thinks that screen 1 is still connected and starts my desktop applications there, which is kind of annoying, considering it should have been disabled.
Here's my set-up:
ASUS N73SV (broken screen) plugged per HDMI 1.4 to HDTV
Intel i5 2410m (2nd Gen)
4GB RAM
Intel HD 3000 (inside Intel i5) & NVidia 540M (which device is being used... unknown as control panel inaccessible)
64GB SSD (internal, Win7 Ult, doubt it is recognized, at least never saw it)
SeaGate GoFlex FreeAgent Desk 2TB + USB3.0 Dock (olugged into USB 2.0, Win8 installed on it)
Any help is appreciated. I can supply screenshots and the like if requested.
