    Latest Nivida Driver Causing Crashes

Recently I updated my nvidia drivers to the most recent and Ive been experiencing many issues.
When the installation was complete I had a runtime error terimation and then a message saying nvidia windows kernel stopped responding in which moments later it froze my laptop and I had to manually shut it down.
When I play games such as league of legends it also ended up freezing my laptop y50

Ive tried reinstalling drivers with driver sweeper and it did not help the issue.

So you are saying that you didn't have any problems at all before you updated the Nvidia drivers??

You can try installing the nvidia drivers in safe mode..

    Is your laptop over heating?

Make sure to get your nvidia drivers from nvidia.com

and also when you install them, you can choose a "clean" install option which apparently does a fresh install of the drivers..

No, especially on laptops. They should be using drivers provided by the laptop manufacturer.

I see one from March on Lenovo site, I would install that one.

All you have given is Y50 so I found this,

Laptops and netbooks :: Lenovo Y Series laptops :: Y50 70 Notebook Lenovo - Lenovo Support (US)

They usually alter or repackage drivers for laptops to fit the specifics of that model or their setup, that's why it's always best to stick with those.

I agree but I also have a Lenovo Laptop (y410p)

I install the drivers via the nvidia website and select Geforce "M" the "M" stands for mobile.. laptop...

I have no issues.. I think you might be having some more conflict elsewhere.. but definitely try the Lenovo driver ..

(i have terrible feelings about Lenovo but don't get me started..)

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people do that. But if there are driver problems it's best to start back with the laptop manufacturer.

They rarely get updated like desktop drivers do though so sometimes the next best option is to just uninstall from device manager and let windows install the driver it finds.
