Display Brightness Adjustment Not Working

Hey guys, so I upgraded to Windows 10 which caused the computer to automatically update my drivers and what not on July 29th, and here I am with a brightness adjustment that does not work whatsoever. Pretty much, whenever I press the less/more brightness buttons on my keyboard, the display will show the brightness gauge going up/down but the actual screen brightness remains constant. Yet, when I roll back the driver it manages to allow my brightness adjustment to function again, but my second monitor will not connect even though it is plugged in via HDMI. Obviously attempting to get my old Windows 8 driver will do me no good since this laptop is no longer a Windows 8. I'm pretty stumped here, especially since I'm not the best with the complex side of computers, I'd just like my brightness adjustment to work again while maintaining/keeping everything else Thank you in advance for your help
