    A Quick Question

I checked my device manager to see if I had the right display driver installed. I noticed that I actually have two display drivers installed one for my GTX 680 and the other for the on-board graphics. Should both be installed or should I be disabling the on-board graphics?

You may want to do some checking for video card and mother board specs, some nvidia chips let you do hybrid sli. In games this would give you a lil extra performance.

It is my understanding that when you install a video card, the onboard graphics card is disabled.

That would depend on your motherboard, some keep it on, others will disable onboard when an after market card is installed, that setting in in your bios for what happens to the onboard

If you see two cards you should be able to install Virtu Logic software which can be used to pass through your integrated card and use the PCI-E card when directX is triggered in games. But when you are encoding/watching video it will use the onboard card which may or may not have better processing power than your gaming card.

I know this is an old post but I too have both the onboard video card and my Nvidia GeForce 740M graphics card showing under device manager so I wasn't sure if my computer was actually using the Nvidia card or the onboard card. I am using a Windows 8.1 computer. I don't really have any control panel for setting up the Nvidia card except for 3D but there's options to make many changes to the onboard card. How can I tell which video display my computer is actually using?
