The performance of the Dual Graphics solution depends greatly on the driver support for the used games. In some games the performance may even degrade slightly compared to using only the dedicated graphics card.

thats the other card

Let me get this right, you want to go from either Dual graphics card crossfire setup with HD 8659G +HD 8600M to Geforce 6600 or
HD 8600 to Geforce 6600 ? Which is correct, bit confused. Best try to fill in system specs here or provide make and model, believing it is a Laptop.

Plus bit confused on what exactly we are wanting to do and achieve here with a switch of video adapter.
Possibly game performance.

Yea , it is a laptop , the Asus R510D and my specs are:
AMD A10 2,5ghz
AMD radeon hd8670m 2gb
I just see that the 8600m is better than that crossfire so I decided to ask you guys,

Can not find much specs on either as seems come in combination in a crossfire setup, but if this is correct model shows HD 8670M installed, believe might be better then 8600M. Think a crossfire setup has it's advantages as it utilizes 2 cards instead of one, similar to SLI with NVIDIA. Going to think of changing cards for performance reasons might as well go for higher end card then either of those, just my opinion, since... Question is again why are you thinking of changing anything ?

Well , the performance in-game sucks...really bad...The OS helps me since its 8.1 pro and it moves fast on browsing and stuff, but this laptop can not even run a game old like Call of duty 4 on high settings...Its either the driver or I don't know...thats why I am asking you guys..I tried a clean re install of the catalyst...was better..it didnt warm up like in the past but ,still, the performance its the same. BAD

I do not think other card mentioned going to make it perform better, not just video card that is involved in performance in a game.
Processor, HDD, RAM Performance. Make sure your maintaining the system, other system and hardware driver updates, defrag or trim drive, clean temp, history and cache regularly. Low hard disk space, if so remove unwanted programs, startup and running items can make even games lag too.

When install a new video driver make sure first to remove older one, even if replacing, also make sure it is the newest version.

Yeah could be a bit under on video adapter, but rest of specs it should be fine Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare system requirements | Can I Run Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

It should easily run this game... I also have 1tb space and a LOT of free memory..its not about the free space... I only have an antivirus, bsplayer and a few more programs...+it seems like the HD8650G+HD8600M like in the first picture shows that the 8.4 catalyst is installed and I have the 14.12 installed atm

Edit:Updated the driver... nothing changed...still the same performance

What exactly is happening in this game, locking up (freezing intermittently) ? Getting confused by which video cards are installed here. Do me a favor and go to the device manager open Display adapter tell me exactly what it says there, can also see the driver there when you right click and select properties.

Does look like you have a crossfire setup as seen before in earlier post. What is MP not same game mentioned before which i believe was Call of Duty 4 ? Some games have locked frame rates. I play some games myself seen it. As long as not too much is running when you play a game that your system meets the specs of game you usually should be fine, unless some other reasons wrong with the system.

Try this to benchmark the card see how it does with frame rates, it give you a score at end, can post screenshot here, do not run it on max settings, free version listed. Just want to also see how laptop reacts. Valley Benchmark | Unigine: real-time 3D engine (game, simulation, visualization and VR)

Don't think multiplayer going make a difference in performance compared to single player. Definitely something wrong there such low frame rates, not even 30 FPS. How did the system work when you ran this program, did it freeze (lock up) on movements ? Wanted to test the card, by stressing it a bit, see if any hardware issues. Another program is Furmark similar but would need to watch temps. Use only Burn-in test for 15 min. Not overheating which is good sign there, just getting terrible FPS. Not sure if due to the drivers or video adapter itself. Try testing CPU with burn in test, but not sure which to try or if it will tell us anything, this is by looking for hardware failure as another cause of game issues. As game will stress these components.

Also let's see how Hard Drive checks out, run chkdsk
(admin) command prompt, copy and paste this and press enter

chkdsk c: /f /r

After it finishes which will take awhile, use this method to post a text of chkdsk here

1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog, type powershell.exe, and press Enter.

2. In PowerShell, copy and paste the command below, and press Enter.

get-winevent -FilterHashTable @{logname="Application"; id="1001"}| ?{$_.providername –match "wininit"} | fl timecreated, message | out-file Desktop\CHKDSKResults.txt

3. You will now have a CHKDSKResults.txt file created on your desktop that is the log file of your chkdsk scan results from Event Viewer.

As for the game you are showing me you should be able to run it well with this laptop. Try lowering some in game settings.
Tell me performance is good with Laptop in general and with any other software or games ?

Think i also mentioned before about checking for too many startup items in task manager and to regularly clean browser history, cache, windows temps files and to defrag the drive. Can be something else on system may be causing this issue, software, other drivers, but usually it points to a hardware issue and possibly another hardware not video card, RAM, CPU.

Try some of these suggestions, as low frame rate per second happens in benchmarks, not just the games.

Well chkdsk looks good made a few corrections and cleaned it up, no bad sectors. Try a defrag manually through exporer, analyze it first.
GPU usage at 1% while running Furmark, shown in Furmark ? Would not go by Furmark too much, just another testing software but chipset makers of AMD and NVIDIA may incorporate something into there drivers to do this i heard.

Could be due to settings in catalyst driver control panel for AMD drivers or drivers itself and power management settings in control panel.
Still can be Video card itself or even CPU, possible with low GPU usage not getting enough power to Video card.

First try going over the suggestions in the link at the bottom of post #18. Be before thinking of trying more hardware tests.
As do not want to yet jump to any conclusions as for sure it being the video card and going out and buying new one.
If seems to run fine with software and in Windows 8.1 with no issues.
