    You're welcome!

Awesome! Let's hope everything else goes that smooth.

Tried Windows 7 but unfortunately it still wouldn't let me change my resolution so installed a new copy of Win 8.1 and still nothing, even after installing the chipset driver.

A bit stumped at this point, hm..

That was quick. We didn't get a chance to troubleshoot...

Did you install the chipset drivers in W7?

Alright I re-installed Windows 7 and the resolution goes higher than 1280 x 1024 (I'm happy about that) but it's telling me that I need to install a Network adapter, so I can't access the internet on it. (to download the chipset driver). It says that I need to download it from Windows Update but I can't since there's no internet connection.

If I could get this to work (internet connection) I'll be content with this since the resolution isn't at 1280 x 1024 and I'll just upgrade to Windows 10 when it releases in about 3 weeks and see if that fixes everything. I'll still try the chipset drivers and things like that though.

I have an ASUS M2N68 and an M4N68 motherboard. To get the onboard video working I installed the NVidia Chip-set drivers. The N-Force drivers for NVIDIA nForce 630a, in my case. Included in that are the drivers for my GeForce 7025 onboard video. I haven't had to do that since Windows 7 though? Windows 8 and 8.1 install the drivers automatically for me. I'm pretty sure it does, I now have dedicated NVidia graphics cards installed and haven't had to install any video drivers manually.

You can download the chipset and LAN (Network) drivers on a different computer and put them on a flash drive and transfer them to the computer that needs them.

Honestly, if you had it connected to the internet when you were installing, it should have installed at least a basic driver.

You can get both of those drivers on your motherboard download page here,

    TA890GXB HD :: Motherboard :: BIOSTAR

Also, if you could run that tool again so we can look at the logs that would help.

Wow the chipset driver fixed it. When I was installing it the program was installing things that wouldn't install when I was doing it on Windows 8 (like CCC) but it works fine on Windows 7 so I'm happy about that.

Just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Derekimo for helping me out with this, I was searching for hours on ways to fix this and people were saying all they had to do was turn off their monitor and turn it back on which really wasn't the case for me.

I'll keep Windows 7 until the 29th, from there I'll upgrade. Windows 7 is better than Windows 8 anyways

    Thanks once again!

Great! Yeah, the chipset is critical to getting everything recognized.

Glad you got it sorted, you're welcome!

Sounds like you have it planned out, enjoy!
