    Overdoing Graphic card

    Hello,

I have a serious question,i have a GTX 650 TI Graphic card which is 2 GB,now i´m playing GTA 5 and normally i have 2047 MB to use,but i´m using all settings on max which is about 3000+ MB and the funny thing is nothing is lagging and i´m monitoring the heat of my GPU and it´s around 40 temperature and 30 fps. Is this unhealthy for my graphic card in the long run or can i continue like this? I was trying same thing with Assassins Creed Unity,Battlefield Hardlines... and all go perfectly without any lags or issues.

P.S. I am using MSI Afterburner and Rivatuner and i set my FPS max at 30 so it doesn´t jump up and down btw 20-60.

You've pretty much answered your own questions. If all is well and temperature within specs then you are good to go. How could it be unhealthy?

Thank you for the reply,i just thought maybe it´s working to much and will eventually overheat or something i don´t know either what i thought. Maybe because i use 1 whole GB more then i have that it will shorten the life span of my Graphic card or something. I´m watching the heat and it´s around 40-50 not more or less.

Again, I would not worry at all since everything is running fine and temps are good. The card is running well within limits and life span should not be shortened in any way. Using RAM for a game does not impact the GPU life span. It is always good to monitor temps though especially if playing demanding games, then you can catch it if you find temps have spiked for some reason.
