Solved Duo graphics laptop wont connect to second screen.

So my laptop is running windows 8.1 it is a sony vaio svf1532acxw and the specs are here :https://docs.sony.com/release/specs/SVF1532ACXW_mksp.pdf

it wont connect to my second screen and when i go to change resolution it sees 4 screens when my laptop only has an hdmi output, (the outputs it lists are vga, vga, laptop screen, laptop screen) If i do project to second screen it will try to output both screens to the laptop screen, so there will be some cutoff, or if i do identify on the change resolution thing there will be a 1 and part of a second number on the same screen. the screen works because i have tested it on my roommate's laptop.

would latest drivers really mater if the screen worked before?

Never hurts to have latest drivers, just a place to start. You can do what you want, just a suggestion.

ok but i have to go find the drivers form sony i just tried to install the latest from intel but it wouldnt let me

um ok that worked, i think the problem was i updated the nvidia without updating the intel
