Cool deal. You forgot to answer about 32 or 64 bit though. If you don't know which, press Windows key + Pause/Break key at the same time and you'll see.
32 - I edited my post.... Thanks in advance for helping a noob!

So weird - it is almost like windows/nvidia, etc. doesn't even acknowledge that the chip (or card, or whatever the hell its called) is in my laptop.

Download this and run it: download from Guru3D.com

After it extracts to C:\NVIDIA and the green installer opens, then close that installer right then and there by pressing cancel.

Download and extract my attachment directly over the file at C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\301.42\WinVista_Win7\English\Display.Driver

Tell it to overwrite when it asks.

Open device manager. Right click on Basic Display. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse...

Now navigate to the folder above where you copied the .inf file over and double click on that .inf (nv_disp.inf).

Click ok then click next and it will install. Reboot when done.

Then run C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\301.42\WinVista_Win7\English\Setup.exe to install the Control Panel.

    Enjoy and you're welcome.

I explained it clearly so that no real knowledge is needed. Basically, download first link. Double click it to run it. After you literally see all the files extracting, that part closes and then a screen pops up that looks kinda fancy. Close the fancy screen then by clicking "Close".

Download the attachment above. Double click it to open it. Then right click on nv_disp.inf and choose Copy.

Navigate to C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\301.42\WinVista_Win7\English\Display.Driver - Then right click in white area and choose paste. Overwrite the original file when it asks.

Let me know if you get stuck on any particular part.

Beta software is intended for end users that are skilled, or at least have a firm grasp of computing basics.

I'll have to politely bow out of this one, since I've given enough effort.

I do advise to install Windows 7 since that is not in beta.
