Hello,

I need a help here.

After I played some games, my laptop hangs, so I decided to turn it off by the power button. Then, somethings goes wrong. I can't adjust the screen brightness. I've tried to restart my laptop again (which seems to fix it), but it won't work.

Then, I realized that every text on screen is more sharper and a bit thinner in size. I decided to go to Device Manager, and both of my display drivers has exclamation mark in it. Tried updating, but returns with "Your driver is up to date". Tried to uninstall it, but failed. Don't know why.

So, what should I do? I don't like this. I still can play any games, but with reduced frame rate, even the smallest game. Oh yeah, when I tried to change the display settings in all of those games, the screen resolution says 64 Hz, not 60.

Please help.

Regards,
Akip

Update #1:
I've succeed to fix the Radeon, but I still can't adjust my screen brightness. I've tried to disable Intel HD Graphics, then turned it on again makes it changes to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. I updated it, it works, then restarted, the problem still persist. Intel HD Graphics still has an exclamation mark in it.

What driver did you install and where did you get it from? With dual graphics like that I would try the driver offered by the laptop manufacturer first. That one is custom made so the dual graphics can work correctly. Trying to install separate Intel and AMD drivers may not work correctly.

Yes, with Intel CPU and AMD graphics you better go with the drivers from HP. Maybe OP figured that out.

I've tried download it from HP but still no luck. But never mind, I've fixed it by reinstalling my Windows 8.1. I guess the last time my Windows 8.1 got corrupted with an unknown reason. Thanks for trying to help me, anyway.

Akip.
