Please read the thread, that's not the question. And yes, we know this.

The question is do we need new video cards to run DirectX 12 games... games of which aren't even out yet.

    Thanks.

New Graphics Cards won't be essential for DirectX 12

"Following last week’s press event, Xbox executive, Mike Ybarra, said that “There will be DX 11.1 cards that take advantage of a lot of the driver and software tech that we’re bringing in Windows 10, but if you want the full benefits of DX12, you’re going to need a DX12 card.”"

"“While we are not yet ready to detail everything related to DirectX 12, we can share that we are working closely with all of our hardware partners to help ensure that most modern PC gaming hardware will work well with DirectX 12, including; NVIDIA’s Maxwell, Kepler and Fermi-based GPUs, Intel’s 4th generation (and newer) Core processors and AMD’s Graphics Core Next (GCN) based GPUs.”"

I'm fairly sure that if you want to run a DX12 game with full DX12 benefits, then you'll need a GPU that supports DX12, so most likely an upgrade from what most people have now. You'll likely still be able to play DX12 games in DX11 mode on current hardware, the same way you can play some new games in DX10 mode still.

Solved Require password in Installation & Setup
In Win 8 power options>advanced the "require a password on wake up" choice YES is greyed out, so it cannot be changed. How can this be set to NO? Note: This is not a USERPASSWORDS2 / Netplwiz issue, where one can check the box not to require a password. That box IS UNchecked. Thanks
