HD7870 Drivers and CCC - Please Help.

I managed to load the 12.3 drivers through the device manager but so far have had no luck in getting CCC to work. The only thing I really want to change is to disable the underscan on my monitors. If anyone could help me figure out either how to get CCC working or how to edit the registry to turn off the underscan it would be really appreciated.

Solution for anyone else with this problem.

Booted into safe mode, ran driver sweeper, then did this. CCC now works and I can finally adjust graphics settings and get rid of the underscan. Thank you!

Depending on what you're looking for, precisely, the registry settings that affect underscan - along with a tutorial - can be found here.

As you may or may not be aware, the 12.3 drivers aren't officially supported under Windows 8, which is why you may be having problems. You could try the 12.4 beta drivers from http://developer.amd.com/Downloads/O...ersWindows.exe or Catalyst 12.4 beta - ATI - Graphic-Displays

Tried the first link already with no success. The post is from 2007 so not sure if its relevant. Will try the 12.4 driver and post back.

EDIT: The 12.4 driver works when installed through device manager but on CCC I only see the CPU stuff and HydraVision.

It used to be, the configuration for this was found under 'Desktop and Displays' where you should find an image of your TV. But with the later drivers, there's a section for configuring profiles under 'My Digital Flat Panels/HDTV'. Failing that, you could look at ATI Tray Tools I seem to remember it has some configuration settings for things like this...

Tried changing this value from 1 to 0 and rebooted the PC didn't seem to have any effect.

Until AMD releases a consumer preview driver supporting 7800 series cards I think I may be out of luck. CCC and Tray Tools dont work.

Not out of luck. CCC 12.3 works fine. Install normally by running the .exe:

AMD Catalyst 12.3 WHQL 64-bit download from Guru3D.com

Tray Tools works fine too, but I don't see any setting for under/overscan. (Maybe only when connected to tv? I dunno.)

Use the non-Guru3d Driver Sweeper in safe mode first, if you're not having luck.

Yeah, all options are in CCC.

Are you having a problem on your tv or monitor? If it's a monitor, make sure you have the correct native resolution for it set (its intended resolution by manufacturer) and if there is still a problem, use the buttons on the monitor itself to fix it.

Monitor, tried messing with settings on monitor and no luck. If I uninstall the AMD driver and let it use windows basic display adapter it fills the whole screen but once I load the right drivers through the device manager I'm stuck with the underscan.
