So i installed Win 8.1 last night updated windows installed all my drivers, steam, games etc. after i installed GF Experience i ran it and setup shadowplay and storage folders, all that stuff everything ran fine.

Booted up this morning after doing some application installs and game installs went to run GF XP again to setup fps display and i all of a sudden get this error.

geforce problem.jpg

Basically it opens, i hear the error sound then all those pop-ups show up in about 2 seconds then the app crashes.

I had done about 50-60 windows updates last night then another 1.6gb batch afterwards then a few this morning for .net framework and such.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, clean installation, running as admin in win8 comp mode, so has anyone else been able to solve this?

One option is to just not install the GForce Experience. Install the drivers but uncheck Gforce Experience. I don't install it as I also had issues with it. I don't install the 3D vision stuff either.

EDIT: If it's listed in add remove programs you can uninstall it by itself from there. It's not needed for the drivers to work, its just an extra program installed with the drivers.

Yea problem is I use 3d all the time as that's specifically why I bought a 3d monitor and also I capture almost all my gameplay so I need shadowplay.

Just weird that it worked one minute then after reboot it won't.

Leave the 3D vision alone then and just uninstall the Gforce Experience program. All it does is automate setting up the graphics options in games. I just do it manually like I've always done it.

I'm still gonna need GeForce experience for shadowplay that's one of the main reasons I went from sli 580's to a 780ti to make use of shadowplay.

Must be some fix to getting this sorted.

I wish I had a suggestion. I had issues with Gforce Experience the one time I tried it and just uninstalled it. Haven't tried it since, as its not something I need.

Yea the ONE SINGLE THING i want out of it is shadowplay as its hardware powered so doesnt kill my fps while recording, i know fraps only consumes minimal cpu usage but for games like DayZ and Dead Rising 3 where they're horribly optimised it makes a difference.

Plus shadowplay seems to capture a really nice quality without having to buy premium versions of screen cap software.

Also its a feature that ships with the card and when i purchase a product i want to be able to use all the features.
What i dont understand is why it was working before and now its not, and all the fixes i've tried seem to work for everyone but me.

There was one fix that i couldnt try though as the service he said to set as manual doesnt seem to be on my services list, maybe thats the problem, not sure how to fix that if it is though.

Ughhh Windows 8 i knew you'd be trouble.

Not yet my ISP has been down all night, have been playing around with the services but still nothing has changed, once I get my connection back I'll try that.

Already performed a clean install through Nvidia drivers.

Want to try avoid reinstalling windows again as this will be the 6th windows install I've done in the last 2 months and at 2gb+ of updates everytime it becomes very time consuming.

Well, DDU does much more than a clean install with the Nvidia installer. Just saying it is worth a try.

I'd run DDU, then several instances of CCleaner, reboot and install drivers.
