NVIDIA 8600m gt, driver will not install, cant find compatible hardwar

I downloaded the newest 296.17 driver that is available for my card and OS. It does not work so I download a modified inf from laptopvideo2go.com and still nothing. that is what I did with Win 7, I needed to use a modified inf. But it is not working on win 8.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi.

32 or 64 bit Windows? We'll need to know that to help you out.

Cool. Yeah, for 64 bit the easiest way to install the driver is to download it from Sony's website for your model. Open device manager, right click the video adapter. Properties | Details tab. Change the dropdown to say hardware ids. Then copy/paste the results below to here. (No screenshots instead of copy/paste, please.)

I'll set you up with instructions so the latest driver works for your machine, but you will have to do one of the following 3 choices:

    1) Sign the driver.

    2) Disable driver signing enforcement checks permanently.

    3) Disable driver signing enforcement checks each time at boot from the menu.
