    Your resolution is lower than...

After connecting my new laptop to the my 30" tv with an HDMI cord and then removing it later, the resolution was messed up. I received a notification bubble saying that my resolution was at the recommended settings. I went to my screen resolution settings and the slider said it was at 1366x768 ,which is the max on my computer, but below was a warning saying, "Your resolution is lower than 1200x900. Some items might not fit on your screen". If there is any way I can fix this please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Ryan

That would be because the Flat Screen you are using is unable to show anything higher. You can verify that information in the manual for your Flat Screen.

@broe23 That makes sense but as I said, after I removed it the settings did not reset back to normal leaving me with a lower resolution than it really should be. The only thing that I could think of doing is to change the resolution back to normal in the settings but the slider is at the top saying that its at the max setting but the notification below says it is not. Click the down arrow right end of the Resolution box which should give you a slider with other resolutions.
The native screen resolution on mine has (Recommended) by it. 1 of the 5 resolution choices gives the yellow warning triangle.

Alternatively go to the Integrated Graphics/Graphics Card driver.
Right click on the Desktop, in my case it's Intel HD Graphics Properties.... > Display > Resolution drop down box right hand side down arrow and on mine 4 choices same as the Windows choices minus the yellow triangle one.

in either case Apply, OK etc.

This alternative second method may correct the Windows choices.

If it does then you can save that Display Profile from the box left hand side on the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel.

You can also get to the Intel HD Graphics Control Panel by selecting the Advanced Settings link in your image and the appropriate Intel Tab > Graphics Properties...

I don't know about AMDs offerings.

Snap on lower resolutons ever? in General Support
Do you think it will ever make it so you can "snap" using lower resolutions? My Asus tablet does 1280x800 which is lower than the 1366x768. I know there was a hack on the earlier releases but was wondering if anyone knew of a way or thought there would ever be a way to do this on lower resolutions...
