    Intel HD 4600

I have one of the Core i7s with integrated graphics (HD 4600). However, it is not being used because I have a Radeon R9 285 dedicated video card installed (for gaming). Is there any way that the HD 4600 could be used for anything? Maybe like OpenCL, etc? Seems wasteful to have it not doing anything...

Does that motherboard allow for switchable graphics in BIOS? Home built computer?

I assembled the PC myself. It does give me options in UEFI settings for the integrated GPU. The mobo is MSI Z97 U3 Plus.

If it allows it there should be something like "dynamic" or "switchable" in the BIOS graphics settings. Otherwise it just defaults to the HD 4600 whenever there is no other card installed.

Did a search. This is one that supports it: Motherboards - P8Z68-V - ASUS

    Hi,
Go to the Graphics Driver Control Panel for your AMD Graphics Card there should be options for using the integrated HD 4600 graphics or the AMD Graphics card as the default.

I have the competing NVidia Graphics Card and you can set the default Graphics to HD 4600 or NVidia Card, and select individual games to use the NVidia Card or indeed any application can use either by selecting to do so.

It is not a BIOS setting.

Well it is a BIOS function but must be built into this motherboard. You have the same one?

EDIT: OK, both a BIOS and hardware function of the motherboard.
