Windows 8.0 x64 AMD HD7310 driver?

Every time I try to download the HD7310 AMD driver instead I get a program that wants to charge me to auto update all my drivers.

I just want to download the latest Windows 8.0 64 bit driver for HD7310. I'm on a Laptop and the video text is horrid. I have catalyst software installed but every time I try to adjust brightness and/or contrast it looks nothing like the sample page. It gets progressively worse the more I attempt to adjust it. I can't believe it's this tough to get legible text on a monitor in this day and age.

Anyone have a magic link?

I'm guessing your not downloading from the real AMD web page. You got one of those fake sites. I go here, Download Drivers

Thanks for the link. I did color calibration and that helped. But what makes it sticky is there's no real time contrast adjustment. There's no way to do the gray bar tune bit if you have to move a slider,hit apply etc.. It's the contrast that bites on this Laptop.

(I'm still downloading the 14.4 Catalyst driver)

14.4 is the latest official version, its what I'm running. Did you try the adjust clear type fonts option?

I haven't istalled the driver yet. Doing it now. But yes I have adjusted clear type a bunch of times. So far color cal. seems to do the most good.

I went through the color calibration attempting to also adjust contrast this time. It came out looking the same. I guess that's just how it is on this Laptop. On the bright side(pun intended) at least the driver install didn't seem to break anything.

How old is the laptop? What type of backlighting does it use? Running at the correct native resolution for that screen?

It was new in 2013. Came with W8. I'm not sure about the video but the screen is glossy if that is supposed to tell anything. The text has been fuzzy in browsers since day one. It's not quite as bad in editors.

When I first got the machine it was so bad I used high contrast mode. Then I got a FF AddOn to swap to a dark background light text theme on sites where I can't read it with a white background,and went to Aero theme.

I did color calibration,used QuickGamma etc.. Most sites I don't need to resort to a dark theme but it's still squint city unless I have a bold font. I use Theme Font and Size changer so that tab titles etc.. can be set to Ariel Black.

So now the only hassle is reading the text in the body of pages and in editors. In Scite4Autohotky editor I use a dark theme.

Edit: In FF I also use Document Font Toggle. The trouble is all the plain font look fine in the preview. When I uses them as alternate font there's not much difference unless it's bold. Putting everything bold makes it tough to see what's already been read etc..

I think 98% of the problem is lack of real-time contrast adjustment. For some reason they provide brightness, but for contrast I have to go inside the Catalyst software and hit apply. There's no good way to adjust it. (When I search this seems to be a common Laptop complaint. Usually with no solution.)

Edit2: Another thing I noticed when I used to do ClearType adjustment on my CRT is seemed to make a miniscule improvement in readability. People said it's not for CRT monitors. Only flatscreen. That's why. So now I have a flatscreen and afaict the adjustment does nada. I'm starting to think ClearType is a placebo only technology.

Well right now my CCC will not launch? I have no idea why though? I even reinstalled it. Everything else is working, and I'll likely be putting Windows 9 Preview on this laptop when it comes out, so I'm not going to worry too much about for now. It looks like the CCC is the only way I could adjust the contrast? I have not found any other way to adjust it? adjusting the brightness is not an issue though. I just did an "update driver" "check online" and it downloaded and installed a new driver. Will have to reboot to see if it fixed CCC.

Well I fixed CCC. I had to uninstall everything ATI and delete the folders in program files. I see contrast options in CCC, but not anywhere else? If they are there also somewhere else I haven't found them yet. I haven't ever adjusted them on my laptop, not that I can remember anyway.

Catalyst is the only place I've seen any contrast adjustment. Power options has brightness,but not contrast. I guess I'll just have to use dark themes and font toggles. It just seems weird since video looks fine.

On a desktop PC with an external monitor it would be set in the monitors menu, not in Windows. With a laptop and an integrated screen you have to put it somewhere else. brightness is what you normally want a quick adjustment for so it has function keys. Contrast not so much so its a little harder to get to. The nature of the beast I guess.

I'd say some of it is likely text looks fuzzy because my eyesight isn't as good. But lots of people are complaining about the contrast. I wish I still had my desktops and monitor so I could tll if it's me or Memorex that has the problem.
