Eh, sorry. Your hardware would be an example of why I put (almost) in the thread title. Your graphics adapter is way too old for any recent drivers at all. I would have told you earlier, but I got confused and thought you had a brand new adapter in the new HD 7xxx line.

The best you can hope for is to install the XP driver meant for your card, but even with that, the acceleration is going to be extremely poor.

My recommendation here is to remove Windows 8 from the machine completely and stick with Windows 7. If you do that, be careful about your boot files and boot folder. If they're on the Windows 8 partition, you should make a thread asking for help with that. Attaching a screen shot of disk management while in Windows 7 would be helpful.

Hey I really hope that you can do something with my laptop,

Its hp pavilion dv7-2133eo and it has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650

    Running Windows 8 x64

    IDs:
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9480&SUBSYS_3064103C&REV_00
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9480&SUBSYS_3064103C
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9480&CC_030000
    PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9480&CC_0300

    If you need those.

I don't really feel like downgrading back to windows 7, because I have reinstalled all I got lost from upgrading to windows 8 (full clean install).

I really don't know what is AMD external device, but if it isn't very importmant, I won't need it.

    Thanks for help =)

It won't be a problem to do it, but you're going to have to disable driver enforcement at the boot menu each time you start the computer or set it permanently.

Alternatively, you can sign the driver after replacing the .inf with the one I'll make for you.

If you still want to do this, download the driver in the OP. Run it and once it extracts to C:\AMD, close the installer and wait for further instruction. (Let me know if/when you're ready.)

Another option for you is to install the latest driver from HP for your model, and there are no hoops for that.

Hi and thanks for your answer,
because of you, I checked the hp homepage and found my laptop, there was somekind of graphics update, first I will try that, if it doesn't work, I will be OK to disable driver enforcement, to get it working. I will soon reply to thread, that will I go trough it or not.
And what you mean by OP?
I've already got somehow AMD and ATI folders, but programs itself won't do nothing. CCC gives "Catalyst Pro Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using Catalyst Pro Control Center" Will I need to delete the CCC and start the downloader aigan and stop, when it finishes extracting c:\AMD?

Anyways, atm I'm going to try the HP graphics update.

    EDIT:

graphics update from HP didn't do nothing. So if driver enforcement isn't very importmant thing on my pc, then I will go trough this. But first - will programs work after the update, that were before saying that I need to update my graphics drivers? And second - I really don't know much about computers and stuff, so please make the instructions as easy as you can =) And third - I won't do it when I need to do F8 on every reboot to disable driver enforcement, so I also need permanent disable function that works.

Extract the .inf in my post below directly overwriting the the one at C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_Win8_Consumer_Preview\Packages\Drivers\Display\W86A_INF

Here are your choices to be able to use it:

How to Install & use unsigned drivers in Windows Vista/7 x64 - TechSpot Forums

To install it, make sure you signed the driver or disable checks first, then right click on the graphics adapter in the device manager. Update driver software....Browse my computer....Let me pick...Have disk....Browse.

Now find and double click on the extracted .inf file. Hit ok then next. It will install. Reboot after then run setup.exe in C:\AMD\AMD_Catalyst_Win8_Consumer_Preview to install CCC.

    I've got somekind of error:

Or I need to sign the .inf file? I was really confused... Really sorry, but I know alittle about programming and computers :P Anyways, trying to verify then the .inf file.

    EDIT:

signed the inf file with the program on the other forum post. It didn't do nothing, still getting that error. Even did restart like the program told me to do (before I tried to do it without restart)

I would disable driver enforcement if you want to use the driver. It seems like it is installed well, but not allowed to access the unsigned driver file(s) it/themselves. I can't say for sure as I don't do this on any of my own x64. I don't even know if those methods work for Windows 8. If not, you could probably find on Google how to disable it.

Ive tried Solution number 2 but nothing happened =/ I'm too beginner to understand how to turn it off on my pc, exept that I have to do then every restart an f8 click, what I really, really don't want to do. Gonna ask some friends and google alittle bit, maybe I can find answer

    EDIT:
"In Windows 7 you could enable Test Mode, however from what Iíve seen of Windows 8, test mode still requires that drivers are at least signed with a test cert"

so I think there is no way to certificate the drives?

For the Radeon 4650, I recommend simply installing the latest WHQL 12.4 since it has many fixes for games that the driver in this thread doesn't have:

AMD Catalyst 12.4 WHQL 32-bit download from Guru3D.com

    -----------

As for the Mobility Radeon, I can easily make an .inf for you to replace the one extracted in the above download.

The Windows 8 driver is not going to do anything at all that the 12.4 doesn't do, so this is the best course of action at this time.

I'll return with the edited .inf for your 4570 shortly. I have to download/extract from it myself first, since I don't have it on my HDD.
