Display settings being overrided?

I'm having a terrible time after reformatting my 8.1 machine (desktop).Every time I try to adjust a display setting, such as gamma, some other process overrides it in real-time. Meaning I can't calibrate my display in windows color calibration, or even in my nvidia control panel, it instantly resets it while you're adjusting the slider. I don't know what this could possibly be, but I've uninstalled the Dell display manager, so I assume it's not the monitor overriding it. I also have nvidia control panel set to 'use other applications' for display configuration.Any ideas? This is driving me nuts.

In your nVidia control panel, make it user controlled, or nVidia controlled as opposed to applications. My other computer uses the same control panel, so I can relate to this problem!
