Since the previous release fixed a Kepler core glitch which is what I have. I don't really care if they pass on laptop drivers for this one. Don't really think new drivers do much if anything for my GPU anyway. Getting a bit "long in the tooth" as they say.

True, lately so many updates second in 2 weeks and there was also a hotfix which i did not apply myself, wait for next one as they usually will apply it to that one. As i never had issues i can tell from any NVIDIA Updates.

Looks like that I'll be switching to nVidia after eight years.

In my primary rig, I've had 7950 which is still doing its job, but I recently got myself a nice and shiny 40 inch 4K monitor and I've been waiting for an appropriate GPU to come out ever since. Now that 980Ti has been released, I'll probably get one in the following months.
And I must say I have never had issues with AMD's drivers (knocks on wood). Although, one card was real bad (heating like hell, it eventually died), and I've been purchasing two or more vent solutions ever since and checking my temps which are real good for the last five years or so.

Nice chunk of change for 980Ti !! Some AMD's not all. I like EVGA cards, see model you want in a few versions. Can also go for TITAN,

I have this one and it runs very cool, fans do not run till it reaches say 60c more or less. No issues with most new games so far. Of course your case and it's cooling will also make the differences too.

I know, I have a lot of fans and a nice spacious Silverstone Kublai case. Titan is way over my budget. 980 Ti will be far-fetching it, but, I'll manage it and it's near Titan X performance, so I think that's a good deal. Honestly, I'm more inclined to buy Asus or Gigabyte version of the card. 4GB cards don't rouse my interest because I think that 4GB is too little VRAM for 4K resolution. AMD will be releasing an 8GB version of their 390X card, but, I am honestly, not interested so much, because it's just rebranding since 2011. I think that HD 7XXX series was the last great series. The R one, may be good, but I am not intrigued as I know a lot of people who have it and they have problems. I have nVidia 760 Phantom 4 GB edition and it works perfectly. Besides, I'm having trouble with my card (cannot work at 60 Hz because it doesn't have DP, but mDP) and that simply won't work at 60 Hz. Otherwise it's a great card. I will be getting my 980 Ti hopefully, at the end of July or the beginning of August if something doesn't change budget-wise.
