Blank Screen (External Monitors Only Works)

I have a DELL Vostro 3550 w/ Intel HD Graphics 3000, and whenever my laptop finishing loading the Windows 8 OS (beta fish) the screen completely disables. I then have to hookup a VGA monitor in order to use it. I already installed EVERY driver from support.dell.com matching my service tag including the Intel HD Graphics driver associated with my machine and there don't seem to have any problems w/ the display drivers in the device manager. I also tried countless comboniation of settings in my Intel Graphics Utility and Resolution/Screen settings, nothing seems to be working. I've looked EVERYWHERE, but no luck.

    Status: Solution Pending

If it is anything like what mine does you can get the screen to work by making it sleep (8 is set to do this when the lid is closed or there is normally a fn combination) and then wake it in.

Have you tried updating the driver thru windows update, it should have the latest driver? I have a intel i7 2630qm cpu (sandy bridge) which has the graphics chip 3000 embedded with the cpu, and windows update got mine going - you could also read this -it maybe of help :

One new element to Windows 8 is the requirement that Metro style applications have a minimum of 1024x768 screen resolution, and 1366x768 for the snap feature. If you attempt to launch a Metro style app with less than this resolution (e.g. 800x600, 1024x600) you will receive an error message. Since the software is in everyone’s hands now, we will follow up with a more detailed blog post where you can learn more about the work we did for scaling across multiple resolutions and why this is a requirement in order to make sure developers can easily build applications that scale well across resolutions. We chose to allow Windows 8 to install even when a system doesn’t meet this requirement because, even without Metro style applications, your Windows 7 workloads on these PCs will improve and you can benefit from all the other features of Windows 8, including enhancements to the desktop. We have made sure that Start and Settings all scale well on 800x600 resolution screens.

Right now I am using the basic MS driver (low-res) to do things, but when I update via the Windows Update feature It finds a driver (Not Intel HD Graphics Family) and tries to install it. It fixes my res problem (On external monitor), but disables my internal screen. I spent ALL weekend trying to fix this, and I see others have the same problem... I guess I'll have to wait for a update...
