Battlefield 4 running @ 10 FPS with new graphics card Why?

    Hello,
Recently, I got a new graphics card that has been a massive pain (just check my other threads) . This card is a GALAXY NVIDA GEFORCE 620. Anyways, I got Battlefield 4 the other day. It reccomended for minimal requirements a Graphics card with 512 MB. First off, could someone explain what that means? I'm pretty sure my card out matches that minimum requrement, since this card has a memory size of 2048 MBs. The card has a GPU clock of 710 MHz and a memory clock of 500 MHz, but I can adjust these numbers using software included with the card.

Knowing that, when I go to play the game, the thing lags like crazy, I've never seen anything lag that hard. I had all the graphics settings at their lowest, and ran an in game 'Performance test'. The test showed back that I had 'Poor', and reccomended I try lower settings for a better framerate (What's lower than the lowest? lol ) and the test provided a framerate, and that number was ten. 10 FPS. If you ask me, thats a little exaggerated. I have a PS2 emulator that runs around 30 FPS on this card, and other PC games that I can play full framerate with highest settings.

My Question: Did I waste my money on a card that isn't going to do the job, or is there something im missing?

    Any help would be appreciated

A GeForce 620 is NOT a gaming card. It's a $60 budget card with a lot of RAM
    EVGA 02G-P3-2629-KR GeForce GT 620 2GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card - Newegg.com

Here is an example of a gaming card with 2GB of RAM that would run BF4 nicely. It's $340.

Remember the more inexpensive graphic card you buy, the less FPS you will get. My recommendation is to save money and then buy a good graphic card that you can have a long time.

Yeah, that seems the best in this situation. TIme spent earning the card for (hopefully) a long card life. Thankyou, and i'll start saving

Yeah, this would be an option, but it isn't like I'm in absolute need of this card. I'd rather buy one new than get one used in who knows what condition.
I've gotten stuff off of EBay before, and since, I do not prefer to do so.

My son and I each have the EVGA GTX-660 SC video card and we're very happy with them. He plays the newer games, like BF4 and I just play World of Tanks, so the card is overkill for me (90fps) and he says the card is great for all of his games. You can pick up the GTX-660 CS for $180 or less on eBay, Amazon or your local MicroCenter.

Yeah, it is the card I intend to buy. Sadly, I dont live near any computer stores for hours, so any buying I am going to have to do on the internet.
