Halo CE behaving weird w/ new graphics card.

    Hello,
Recently, I got a new graphics card for my computer (the card was Galaxy NVIDA GEForce 620). Well, after install some things changed that I do not like:
Some games act weird. In particular, Halo CE. Before my graphics card, this game ran well. Now, after the card, when I start the game, it remains at a screen w/ the word 'Halo' printed in the center, which is normal. But, instead of starting the game, it stays at this screen, only it starts flashing. This is starting to worry me. Not just the flashing, but afterwards, I couldn't use explorer. I'd click on explorer, and it wont run. Is there something wrong with the card, computer, or me?

*I am still new to the forums, and I don't know how to reply to what people say on my post, here. So if you reply to this, if you could please check back to see if i replied with another comment? Thankyou

    Hello again,

As you mentioned you got a new card. Did you remove drivers of your old graphic card and then install the drivers for your new card?

    If not, follow this.

    1. Download Driver Sweeper. This small program will help you to remove left overs of your old driver.
    2. Uninstall the drivers that you have now.
    3. Reboot is Safe mode. Run Driver Sweeper. Select "AMD" or "Nvidia" (which ever card you had before this one). This will remove all the bits of old driver and make your PC clean.
    4. Reboot in normal mode. Install the latest drivers for your card and reboot again.

    Check and keep us posted

I have not removed my old drivers, but I am concerned that my previous (intergrated) card won't function without the drivers. Sometimes, with my new card, I change some setting (let it be any setting) and the image goes out. Then, from there, I'll have to pull the card out and use the previous card to undo that change. If uninstalling a previous driver won't take out the functionality of the previous card, then i'll go ahead and give it a try

Whenever you install a dedicated GPU over an integrated GPU, by default the external card will the primary card and the best practice is to remove all the old drivers (as mentioned in my first post, follow the procedure to do that) and install the new drivers. As, old drivers can cause issues.
