    3rd monitor no longer works.

I have three monitors setup in Windows 8. Two of them to a Radeon 4670 and the third to the onboard HD graphics 4000. They work quite well in Windows 8. When I upgraded to 8.1 the HD 4000 monitor no longer comes up. The adapter is recognized and device mangler says it is working and has the most recent driver.

This is important to my work flow and is just one of a number of things not to love about 8.1. I would like to get this functioning before I tackle less important issues. Thank goodness 8.1 is installed on a test drive.

    Thanks for your help.

My guess is its a driver issue that is messing up the Hybrid Crossfire function.

Downloaded the latest drivers. The three monitors work great with Windows 8

I'm running three monitors here on my desktop PC but they are all on my GT640. I can't run my IGP and a PCIe card at the same time. That limits what I can look at compared to your setup.
So both video cards show up in device manager OK? What do you see on the Display > Screen Resolution screen where the monitors are numbered? Have you clicked the Detect button?

Both are fine in device manager. In the display/screen res screen I see only two monitors. Detect button detects only the two that show.
It seems that every time Msoft fixes one thing they break three.
There is really no pressing reason to use 8.1 other than curiosity. In 8 I have good backup, gadgets that work, and three fully functional monitors. Every new version of windows seems to strive for more automation for the appliance level user at the expense of the power user.
I will keep 8.1 on my test drive for a while but I doubt that I will be making it my primary OS any time soon.
    Thanks for your help.

Did you install the Video drivers or did Windows 8.1 use its own? If Windows 8.1 did I try manually reinstalling the latest drivers from ATI/AMD

OK, thanks, just wanted to confirm if it was one or the other, or both. I'm out of ideas. All my desktop PC's are running Nvidia for graphics cards. Will your 4670 run three monitors? I know that's not the answer your looking for but its just something to think about. I'm happily running three off of my GT 640.
