Running win 8 and installed Win8.1 and device manager told me windows shut down my video card (560 Ti) because of a problem and began running default drivers. I tried everything from removing and reinstalling drivers, reseating the video card, changing slots, etc....

As soon as I reverted back to Win8, EVERYTHING ran as fine as before. If anyone has an idea, please let me know......

SPECS:

AMD FX-9370
32gb G skill
ASUS M5A99X EVO
Windows 8

Thanks in advance

You don't mention which drivers you have installed? The standard Microsoft ones? Or the latest 8.1 compatible drivers from NVidia?

Latest WHQL is version 327.23
Latest beta is 331.40

When I install 8.1 it reverts back to Microsofts generic driver. I installed the newest Nvidia driver and it still does not recognize the video card.

The Nvidia driver tells me that :

"The monitor I am using is not connected to an Nvidia device"

And the card has the "!" in device manager.

Once I went back to Win8, all was well...

GeForce 331.58 is now the newest WHQL version. Try downloading the newest driver directly from the Nvidia site and be sure to select "clean install" when running the installer. This will revert settings to the defaults while uninstalling the old version.

For what it's worth, my gtx 770 works fine, but I upgraded to 8.1 with version 327.23.
