No display on my PC screen!

Help!! I just purchased a new windows 8 PC. I was attempting to hook the computer up to my tv through hdmi (the pc has no VGA input) and when I went through the normal paces to put the display on my tv (display desktop only on 2), the signal did not transfer and there is no display on either my tv or pc! Does anyone know how to revert the display back to my pc monitor without being able to see anything? Acer support was less than helpful. It's an acer aspire z3-605 all-in-one pc.

I think the HDMI is for input, you can hook another HDMI source to the pc and view it on the pc's screen. I don't think it is meant as an output to another external screen. There is probably a source button on the pc that switches from an external source to the pc itself.

if there is no button to switch between external and internal screens (though I agree with xunile , there probably is one) , try and see if you can get access to a standard PC monitor with a HDMI connection , you should be able to get the image on that and switch back.

Pressing the Windows key and the P key will bring up the screen selection menu. Then tap the up or down arrow once and hit enter. You may have to try it more than once till you get a screen. I have never ever seen a video connector on a laptop that was an for an input signal. They are for adding a secondary screen and only output a video signal. Reading though your manual will confirm this. It will also tell you what F key toggles the display. On my laptop it is F8 and has a projector screen symbol on it.

It isn't a laptop, it is an all-in-one PC. Some of them have the ability to use their screens as a monitor for an external source
