Dual graphics here too. Mine switches on the fly. I have never seen my screen resolution change as a result of switching GPU's. Just an observation.

There should be some documentation included with that laptop listing specs etc, it may be PDF file stored on the laptop itself. Every laptop I've ever seen comes out of the box already set to the native resolution of the LCD screen attached to it. There are also subtle differences in models. are you 100% sure you are supposed to have 1080p support? I'm not, not for a 14 inch screen.

EDIT: Is that screen shoot from an Acer laptop that is the exact same model as yours?

See, that one says "Mobile PC Display" so it all goes back to the driver for the Monitor.

Also, you should make SURE that your model is exactly the same as theirs. Sometimes they look Identical, but have totally different Monitors, using totally different inverters. I found that out painfully when I tried to replace a Compuke monitor from one laptop with one that I thought was the exact same monitor, but it was totally different, even thought it was the exact same model laptop!

It may be that yours does not have the same hardware as the others that do show the 1080- Or, they have bridged their Video cards somehow.

OK I found the Program I was looking for - It's LucidLogix "Virtu"

I think there is a trial version. It combines Dedicated and Integrated Video. Cheapest one is 35 bucks or so. Read the Documentation, if yo have a particular iNtel video, you can use it.

You sure that screenshot IS 1080? It don't look like it.. Unless it set to 125%

Change your size to 125% and see if your rez goes up to 1080!

Yes that is 1080p, it might be 125% as mine was out of the box as well. yes the laptop is the same as theirs. (all models are the same, I bought it from the second link)

I think it is a driver issue it almost seems like the intel driver installs but its not actually doing anything. I uninstalled the video drivers and the display looked the same, 1366 x 768.

I have to wait till Tuesday anyways due to the long weekend to ask for an exchange so ill keep trying to mess with the drivers.

I would find the driver on the Intel Site, don't use the one from MS.

Check out that Lucid program, it may be somethign you can use.

Hey Cruisx, I just ordered one of these. I live in Nova Scotia and I could not find one to buy anywhere. I hope I don't run into one of these issues when my computer arrives tomorrow. One of the main reasons I bought one is because it is meant to do 1080p.

My question is, have you played many games on it? If you have what ones? How did they run?

I am not going to do any heavy gaming on this. I have a good alienware for that... but I am just curious for when I travel. I hope that it can play Starcraft, diablo, such games like that.

    Thanks!

My new Acer laptop has very disappointing screen and video quality. The screen resolution is maxed-out at 1366 x 768 with Intel HD Graphics 4000. Those specs should be just fine for great visuals. My old desktop didn't come close to that but I could watch Youtube videos very well with no...
