    No really, in this specific case the 580 beat newer GPU's.
    I wonder if something like this exists for newer GPU's matched with i7's or it always depends on the bottleneck people talk about.

    Yes, the 580 did beat the newer GPUs but there are motherboard variants and possible overclocking parameters (on some) that I could not show because the screen would have been too wide. However, I can generate a full report and save it to a PDF file for anyone interested or you can download the Passmark Performance Test Software here and do it yourself. It has a free 30 day trial (fully unlocked):

    Well, in the screenshot some motherboards get better results. CPU speeds are high but with different speeds each.
    The drive column is not relevant in this test but I guess the motherboard (CPU support, resources) and RAM (dual channel or not) is a bit important besides the gfx card.
