Hello Guys,

I have recently installed a new Video Card a Gigabyte GeForce 660 GTX, when I'm playing video's or if I open the Geforce Experience program from the task bar the screen goes blank for about a second then returns to normal, it always seems to happen when I get the program to check for updates. I am using the latest driver 320.49.

When I play games there's no problem occur so I don't think it's the card it's self, I suspect it's something to do with the program.

I just wondered if anyone else is having this problem?

Thanks

Tony

I did a fresh format and install of Windows 8 64 Bit Pro. Sorry but I couldn't live without a start button so I have installed the Start8 start menu which is great. I try sometimes not to use it but find metro frustrating to find programs as I have many. I will use Metro for apps only and desktop of serious computing.
Just curious; do you get a pop-up message indicating that your driver has stopped working momentarily but has recovered? Lower-left side of screen from task manager?

I also did a further investigation and I assume you have the power supply requirements covered and you have connected the additional 6 pin power supply connection; yes?

Thermal and Power Specs:
97 C Maximum GPU Tempurature
140 Watt Maximum Graphics Card Power450 Watt Minimum System Power Requirement
One 6-pin Supplementary Power Connector

If all of the above is well, you may want to try a different driver version to see if that helps.

Hello Guys,

I contacted Nvidia support and they suggested uninstalling the Geforce Experience program and reinstalling it then changing a setting via the NVIDIA control panel-------->3D settings------->Manage 3D settings-------->Global setting------->power management mode. If it is set to "Adaptive" change it to "Prefer maximum performance.

That seemed to fix it last night but I have just opened the Geforce Experience program and it has done it again tonight. I have never got a warning about a driver stopping working. My PSU is a 520w Corsair unit and the 6 pin connector is connected, if it was a power issue I would have thought I would have got the flashing blank screen when playing games and maxing the card out.

Thanks

Tony
